Dr. Mark McCawley is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon, proudly continuing a legacy of advanced periodontal care at the McCawley Center for Laser Periodontics & Implants in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A lifelong local resident, he earned his DMD, Master of Science, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology and Implants from Nova Southeastern University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. McCawley often lectures to other dentists about advanced gum treatments, how to prevent and treat infections around dental implants, and the proper use of antibiotics. He also lectures to dental students at Nova Southeastern University, instructing future providers in periodontal microbiology and appropriate treatment methods.
He is one of only 30 dentists in the world certified as an Advanced Pinhole Surgeon and is widely recognized for his published research and national lectures on LANAP® laser therapy.

He specializes in diagnosing the root cause of periodontal disease by identifying microbial culprits with advanced microscopy and culturing—a critical step that many other providers ignore. He has also conducted research on these innovative techniques and presents this findings at major dental conferences around the country.

When he’s not in the office, he enjoys playing sports like pickleball and golf as well as modifying and racing cars. During the cooler months he will be off camping around Florida with his wife and when it heats up he will travel to further off places.
