Dr. Mark McCawley is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon, proudly continuing a legacy of advanced periodontal care at the McCawley Center for Laser Periodontics & Implants in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A lifelong local resident, he earned his DMD, Master of Science, and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology and Implants from Nova Southeastern University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists.
Dr. McCawley is highly trained in minimally invasive periodontal surgery and advanced implant techniques. He completed additional surgical training through the Global Dental Implant Academy and lectures nationally on the treatment of peri-implantitis and failing implants.
He is one of only 30 dentists in the world certified as an Advanced Pinhole Surgeon and is widely recognized for his published research and national lectures on LANAP® laser therapy.
Dr. McCawley also teaches microbiology and periodontal antibiotic protocols to residents at Nova Southeastern University. His diagnostic-first approach combines live microscopy, laboratory based culturing, targeted antimicrobial treatment, and gentle, evidence-based care that is custom tailored to each patient.
When he’s not in the office, he enjoys playing sports like pickleball and golf as well as modifying and racing cars. During the cooler months he will be off camping around Florida with his wife and when it heats up he will travel to further off places. Having a local family, he frequently shares time with his parents, brothers, nieces and nephews. He remains committed to his mission of “Saving Lives by Saving Smiles.”
